Laminated glass products are typically used for security. They are made using two or more glass panes that are joined together with a polycomposite laminate. This ensures that even if the glass is broken in an attack, it will largely remain adhered to the plastic laminate.
This differs from toughened (tempered) glass which is strengthened using a complex heating and cooling process. Toughened (tempered) glass shatters when it’s broken, allowing easy entry for an intruder, which makes it inadequate as a security glass option.
