Risk: Medium – High Intruder Resistant Glass.

ArmourShield is the traditional glass-clad polycarbonate high security glass, manufactured for use in Australia and New Zealand.
Sometimes referred to as Armour Glass, ArmourShield Intruder Resistant Glass (IRG) is available in a range of thicknesses to withstand specific attack criteria in situations of extreme security risks. ArmourShield IRG uses a special durable polycarbonate sheet sandwiched between outside layers of toughened glass to provide a hardwearing surface. The elasticity of ArmourShield laminate allows for the differing expansion and contraction rates of glass and polycarbonate, thus maintaining its durability.

Where to use it?

ArmourShield is specially designed for hostility restraint applications where prisoner monitoring and observation is carried out within a secure area such as medium and maximum security jails, youth detention facilities, remand centres, police stations and court houses. ArmourShield helps provide peace of mind for detention facility staff while caring for offenders who may present a risk of violence or physical attack. This product is designed to stop any determined prisoner who may be armed with hand tools or other items available to him such as brooms or chair legs which could potentially be used to aid a break-out.
