Guests of the Novotel Auckland Airport can thank specialist architectural glass manufacturer Glasshape for providing an instantly impressive, unobstructed view from the hotel lobby through its new full-glass, revolving entry door. Comprising individual glass panels measuring 3.6m x 2.35m – the largest curved glass panels used as constituent parts in a revolving door in the country – the project is testament to the ability of Glasshape to find a solution to any application.

Glasshape now stock 10mm clear
Energytech High performance Low E glass. This enables architects to have their pie and eat it! No longer do high performance thermal rated curved glass windows have to be double glazed with mullions at the joints. Simply use 10mm Energytech and have a clear silicone joint.

It’s just become easier. When requested by a client, Glasshape will come on site and digitally measure the project when the final sizes for curved glass are ready to be taken. We then CAD the dimensions into a finished glass panel and with the help of modern technology, import these drawings into our machinery to cut, drill, bend and toughen the glass! Should the glass not fit to the measurements we take, we will replace without question. This totally removes the risk from our clients, increasing their profits and building confidence. The results are a very happy client, accuracy you would struggle to match using solid templates and an immaculate job very well done!
Digital readings ensured the exact curve was reproduced for each section of
the balcony and patio areas, regardless of the radius. Glasshape also manufactured custom 100mm-diameter stainless steel standoff componentry for the project, specially shaped to take the curved surface of the glass.
